The State office has death records dating back to January 1990. If you are searching for earlier records of deaths you can search over the internet or write to the GA Vital Records Office in the county where the person died. For some records you may need to provide a photocopy of a valid photo ID.

Georgia Public Records - Marriage Records

Searches for marriage records has also increased in recent years as many people search for records of wedding s for a number of reasons. Records of marriage have been maintained by the Georgia State office since June 9th, 1952.

You can obtain a certified copy of a marriage up to the year 1996. For marriages prior to 1952, you will have to contact the County Probate Judge in the county where the marriage took place.
